Build was engaged to deliver a premium boutique space for resortwear brand Tommy Bahama, transforming the Mount Maunganui site in time for the peak summer retail season.

The fit-out featured a range of high-end and technically challenging details, including:
– Removal of the original shopfront and installation of a brand-new curved glass frontage
– Bespoke joinery and curved detailing throughout
– Rattan ceiling feature and timber ceiling fans for a tropical feel
– Complex coordination to install mechanical systems within tight ceiling clearances

Partnering with Australian firm Zero9 Construction, Build navigated council delays and tight timelines to have the store open and trading ahead of Christmas.

While slightly over budget due to unforeseen conditions, the result is a seamless, design-forward retail experience built to match the brand’s elevated aesthetic.
